We like to share our enthusiasm for gardening and what better way to do it than by offering a range of courses for novice gardeners.

We know, because we have spoken to many new gardeners, that sometimes gardening can be quite daunting. Often new gardeners don't know where to begin and when faced with overgrown borders or just a patch of scrappy lawn the temptation to go back indoors and put the kettle on can be overwhelming.

But there are so many benefits from gardening, and not just the obvious like getting some exercise and enjoying the fresh air.

Gardening can be very therapeutic.

It is a natural way to reduce the symptoms of stress; in fact researchers at the University of Florida have found that just walking through a beautiful sensory garden lowers stress levels.

Being out in sunlight helps the body to make vitamin D which is really important for healthy bones, as well as having positive effects on the mind.

Learning new skills exercises the mind and helps to keep your brain alert.

Add to that the benefits of eating your home grown fruit and veg, bringing your own cut flowers into the house, helping to sustain wildlife, reducing your carbon footprint and burning between 200 and 360 calories for every 30 minutes of digging and you can see why we like it so much.

With that in mind we have developed a range of day and half day courses to cover gardening basics such as preparing a plot for planting, gardening with containers, grow your own veg and simple propagation techniques.

But we don't stop there. We are quite happy to build a tailor made programme just for you so you know that you will be getting the absolute most for your money and we would be happy to deliver the course in your own garden so we can all see what you are up against.
